DIRECTIONS: Read each of the following accounts carefully. For each one determine who can be charged with the crime of homicide and what degree of homicide that they should be charged with. Justify your answer with a brief explanation. First Scenario:

Walter decides to shoot his neighbor Chuck, who he blames for ruining his life. As he is walking to Chuck’s house with a loaded gun, he is stopped by Chuck’s brother. A violent argument occurs, and Chuck’s brother Joey, stabs Water to death.

Second Scenario: Alex buys a car from Fast Eddie’s Car Mart. the car stalls repeatedly and Alex attempts to return the car. Eddie laughs at Alex and tells him to get lost. Every time Alex makes a repair on the car, he gets angry at Eddie. Alex decides to damage Eddie’s car by bumping it while he is driving home. Alex rams Eddie's car, and the gas tank explodes and Eddie dies from the accident.

Third Scenario: Allison and Jerry decide that they need money. They decide to rob a bank. Jerry drives the car and waits outside. Allison pulls the gun and announces “this is a stick up, don’t move.” The bank teller is moving too slowly and Alison raises her gun and fires several shots into the chandelier which falls from the ceiling. Ethel, a bank employee, is hit by the falling chandelier and dies.

Fourth Scenario: Lou and Jay are upset with their boss, Arnold, who has denied them several promotions. Lou and Jay decide that they will never advance in the company, while Arnold is still there. They hire Gary to kill Arnold, who plans the job and kills Arnols while he is in another state on vacation.
