0 = 7y^2 + 21y - 20y - 30 
0=  7y^2 + y - 30              This will factor.

Solve for y    
y - 2 = 0
y = 2
or
7y + 15 = 0
7y = - 15
y = - 15/7
y = - 2.1428

Step Three
Solve for  x
If y = 2 then
x - y = 3
x - 2 = 3
x = 5
