In a two column proof, we must know the following:

1. The statements, most of which are given in the proof

2. The reason for each statement

3. Keeping a logical order of the statements

3. Keeping a logical order of the reasons for each statement

4. Manipulation of statements as needed in accordance with the reasons provided
