i think it is 27 i did 5+4 then i did 9x3 and got 27

3(x+5)=4. Use the distributive property to get 3x+15=4 to get rid of the parenthesis. Then, subtract 15 from 4 to get 3x=-11. Divide -11 by 3 to get -3.6666667 or -3 2/3.
