Just as you deduce the reasoning as to why a certain side is congruent to another side or a shape to another shape, a detective will deduce the identity of a criminal and their methods to their crime. They usually deduce the facts as to how they complete their crime and then figure out who can pull it off with efficiency and with motive. Normal citizens usually deduce or figure out their income and make sure they plan out their money in a way that they will make a profit. There are many examples, but these two stood out to me.
