Igot in the cab. the cab driver looked sketchy, so i kept careful notice of the mileage. the distance to the restaurant was 6 1/2 miles. when i got to the restaurant, i told the cab driver to wait. i returned with my take out order in four minutes. we then headed back to stcc, but an accident has occurred on our route and the road was temporarily blocked, so we had to take a detour. the return trip was 8 miles. when we got back to stcc, the cab driver told me the fare was $39.70. for the first 1/8 mile is $2.50, for each additional 1/8 mile is .30 and for each minute wait is .35. was i charged the correct amount? if not, how much was the error?

Data for the height of a model rocket launch in the air over time are shown in the table. darryl predicted that the height of the rocket at 8 seconds would be about 93 meters. did darryl make a good prediction? yes, the data are best modeled by a quadratic function. the value of the function at 8 seconds is about 93 meters. yes, the data are best modeled by a linear function. the first differences are constant, so about 93 meters at 8 seconds is reasonable. no, the data are exponential. a better prediction is 150 meters. no, the data are best modeled by a cubic function. a better prediction is 100 meters.
