What happens when you multiply both the numerator and denominator of a fraction by 4? clear check the number in the denominator increases by 4. the new fraction has the same value as the original fraction but it has 4 times as many parts. the number in the numerator decreases by 4. nothing happens. the number of parts stays the same.
