A. a melting point test of 10 samples of a binder used in manufacturing a rocket propellant resulted in a sample mean of 154.2 degrees f. assume that the melting point is approx. normally distributed with a standard deviation of 1.5 degrees f. a. is there evidence at 1% significance to conclude that the melting point is less than 155 degrees f on average? (do all steps) b. what is the probability of a type ii error
(b) if the true average melting point
i 154 degrees?
ii. 153.5 degrees?
iii. 153 degrees?
iv. 152 degrees?
c. what happens to b as the true mean moves farther away from the hypothesized mean?
d. what sample size would be needed to detect a difference of more than 2 degrees with 80% power and a 1% significance level?
