Iwas given the following formula for moving from using a lower percentage concentration to a higher- new quantity = (original quantity) x (1- (concentration of new-concentration of old / concentration of oq= 100grams, oc=80%, and nc=98%. doing the math i get 77.5 grams of the 98% material. my question is what if i was moving the other direction from a more concentrated material to a lesser concentrated material? for example going from 77.5 grams of 98% concentration to 80% concentration? i’ve rearranged the equation but knowing the answer should be 100grams, can’t seem to get back there.
