The absolute value of a number is the distance of a number from zero on the number line. Absolute value is always positive, since a distance is non negative. Essentially, if you want the absolute value of a non negative number, it's just that number.and when is solved in the correct formula is 1 and -1 and since it has to be positive the answer is 1
