How can you know if this equation is true? 1/2 + 3/8 = 4/10 = 2/5

1) Because 1+3=4 and 2+8=10, this equation must be true.

2) Because 25<12, this equation can not be true.

3) This equation must be true, because when you add fractions the sum is always less than 12.

4) Because 38<12, this equation must be true.
