This is the example it gives in the lesson below I have tried and tried but I cant get it right!

Volume of a pyramid: V = 1/3(area of base) x (altitude).

A pyramid has a base 24 inches x 24 inches and a slant height of 20 inches. What is its surface area?

SA = 1/2(perimeter of base) x (slant height) + (area of base).
SA = 1/2(96) x 20 + 576
SA = 48 x 20 + 576
SA = 960 + 576
SA = 1,536 in2
