An engineer conducted an experiment to determine whether the tensile strength of a carbon fiber cord is as great as a cord of equal
dimensions created using carbon nanotubes. To conduct the experiment, the engineer randomly selected 10 sets of dimensions and
acquired cords of each dimension that were created using carbon fibers and carbon nanotubes.
After testing the tensile strength of each cord, the engineer reported that the cords created using carbon fibers had a tensile
strength 7598 greater than that of standard steel wire, and that the cords created using carbon nanotubes had a tensile strength 9096
greater than that of standard steel wire.
What can be concluded from the engineer's report?
*It can be concluded that cords made with carbon nanotubes have a greater tensile strength than that of cords made
with carbon fibers.
o
*Since both types of cords have a tensile strength higher than steel, it can be concluded that cords made with both
types of materials have equal tensile strength.
*It can be concluded that cords made with carbon fibers have a greater tensile strength than that of cords made with
carbon nanotubes.
*There is not enough information to make any conclusions about the engineers's report.
