A large national bank charges local companies for using their services. A bank official reported the results of a regression analysis designed to predict the bank's charges (Y)—measured in dollars per month—for services rendered to local companies. One independent variable used to predict the service charge to a company is the company's sales revenue (X)—measured in millions of dollars. Data for 21 companies who use the bank's services were used to fit the model:

E(Y) = ß0 + ß1X

The results of the simple linear regression are provided below.

= -2,700 + 20X, SYX = 65, two-tailed p value = 0.034 (for testing ß1)

Referring to Table 13-1, interpret the p value for testing whetherß1 exceeds 0.
A) For every $1 million increase in sales revenue, we expect a service charge to increase $0.034.
B) Sales revenue (X) is a poor predictor of service charge (Y).
C) There is sufficient evidence (at the a = 0.05) to conclude that sales revenue (X) is a useful linear predictor of service charge (Y).
D) There is insufficient evidence (at the a = 0.10) to conclude that sales revenue (X) is a useful linear predictor of service charge (Y).

Amovie producer conducted a survey after the screening of his movie to find out how the film would be received by viewers from different age groups. the columns in the two-way table indicate the numbers of viewers who rated the film on a four-point scale: excellent, good, average, and poor. viewer's age group excellent good average poor marginal totals 16-25 52 42 12 7 113 26-35 33 50 5 9 97 36-45 58 12 28 34 132 which of these observations is supported by the data in the table? note: a rating of good or excellent means the audience liked the movie, while a rating of poor means the audience disliked the movie. a. the majority of the audience in the 26-35 age group disliked the movie. b. among those who liked the movie, the majority were in the oldest age group. c. among those who disliked the movie, the majority were in the 26-35 age group. d. the majority of the audience in the 16-25 age group liked the movie. e. the majority of the audience from all the age groups disliked the movie

When constructing a perpendicular line through a point off a line, how can you verify that the lines constructed are perpendicular? check the angles used in the construction with a straightedge to ensure consistency. check the distance along the lines at several places with a compass to ensure they are the same length. check the intersecting lines with the corner of a piece of paper to ensure the lines create 90° angles. check the distance between the lines at several places with a compass to ensure they are equidistant. question 2(multiple choice worth 1 points) (01.03 lc) which of the following steps is included in the construction of a perpendicular line through a point on a line? connect arcs that are above and below the given line with a straightedge. connect arcs that are above the original line with a straightedge. create arcs on either side of a point that is off the given line. create a copied angle by using the first two lines as the original angle.
