Here's brief but important things to know about Alexander Hamilton: he was one of seven Founding Fathers who contributed by writing 51 out of the 85 installments of The Federalist Papers; Hamilton was the one who led the Treasury Department;  he was the nation’s first treasury secretary and a key architect of the modern financial system; he was killed by the then-vice president Aaron Burr through a duel in 1804, even though he was given many opportunities to back down; he started America's oldest published newspaper that's still continuing on today (the New York Post); although recognized for being a founding father, Hamilton was also a statesman, veteran, political intellectual, and economist.
