Information about each of the boats during the race is shown below. Dwight’s Sailboat Andy’s Sailboat Dwight’s boat travels 15 feet per second. After 3 seconds, his boat was 52.8 feet from the start line. When the timer started, Andy’s boat was 3 feet in front of the start line. His boat travels 15.5 feet per second. Part A: Write an equation that models Dwight's sailboat. Part B: Write an equation that models Andy's sailboat. Part C: The race was over after 10 seconds. The winner of the race is defined by the person who is farthest from the start line. Whose sailboat should be crowned the winner? Use mathematics to justify your answer.
