Salma is excited to be traveling to Europe this summer! She is on her way to the bank so that she
can exchange her American dollars for euros. The
rational expression
12x^2+15x-18/2x^2+14x+20
represents the number of dollars Salma needs to exchange. When
she arrives at the bank Salma finds that that amount
of euro she can buy is represented by the rational
expression
2x^2-x-3/x^2+6x+5

Use this information and what you know about graphing, multiplying, and dividing rational expressions to answer the questions below.

1. Write a completely simplified rational expression that represents the exchange rate Salma will receive in dollars per euro. Explain how you came up with your expression.

2. Describe how you can determine the locations of the holes, if any, and the equations of the asymptotes of the simplified expression from question 1. Then state them.

3. Graph the rational expression that represents the completely simplified exchange rate from question 1. Include all asymptotes and holes on your graph.

4.. While Salma is in Europe, she visits a bank to exchange more of her American dollars for euro. Use the rational expressions given in the paragraph above to write a completely simplified rational expression that represents the exchange rate Salma will receive in euros per dollar.

5.Graph the rational expression that represents the completely simplified exchange rate from question 4. Include all asymptotes and holes on your graph.

6. Compare and contrast your graph from question 3 with your graph from question 5. How are the graphs alike? How are they different? Be specific.
