Hi answer or don't answer I don't care really Part 1: Collect Data
In order to complete your assignment, you will need to collect some data.
1. Take a survey of at least 10 people. You will need a watch, stopwatch, or timer.
2. First, record the age of the person you are surveying.
3. Next, ask the person to name as many U. S. states as possible in 60 seconds. Keep a count, and watch your timer. Record each person’s data next to his or her age.
4. Repeat this with at least 10 people, and be sure to survey a range of ages, from young to old.
Part 2: Organize Your Data
1. Create a table of values using the age and number of U. S. states named in 60 seconds.
2. Use your table to create a scatter plot. Draw it by hand, or use a drawing or graphing tool on your computer. Be sure to label the x-axis and y-axis appropriately for your data.
3. Draw a line of best fit through your scatter plot.
Part 3: Drawing conclusions
1. How did you decide where to place your line of best fit? Describe your reasoning.
2. Based on your data, describe the relationship between age and the number of U. S. states a person can name in 60 seconds.
3. Do you see any areas in your data or points that could be considered clusters or outliers? Explain your answer in complete sentences.
