Acountertop is 16 feet long and 3 feet wide. what is the area of the countertop in square meters

Length times width (48) 48 convert to sq meters is around 4.45935

This question regards area.  Area is length times x width.  The only problem is that both numbers are not in the same units.  
16 x 3 = 48 square feet
A meter is roughly 3 feet but we'll use a closer number which is 3.28 feet.
Now 3.28 x 3.28 is, 10.76 which is how many feet are in a square meter.
Now divide 48 by 10.76=4.46 square meters.
If we would have left a meter at 3 feet the answer would be
3 x 3=9
48 divided by 9 is 5.33

The only number less than 8 that can equal 12 would be 6, 36 is the dividend
