Park rangers are concerned with the availability of land for the moose population in the park. If the number of moose exceeds 20000, the park will not be able to support the entire population. In 2000, the moose population in a park was measured to be 4500. By 2010, the population had grown to 8000. Assume the population continues to grow linearly. a) Showing all necessary work, find a formula for the population, P(t) , where t is years since 2000.
b) Using complete sentences, interpret the slope of the formula in part a in the context of the problem.
c) Estimate the moose population in 2020. Should the rangers be concerned about the size of the moose population?
