The manufacturer of a brand of 6 mm rope wants to compare the breaking strength of the ropes manufactured using two different processes (A and B). Ten ropes manufactured by each of the two processes were randomly selected and tested for breaking strength. The data are shown in the below. Process A: 1470, 1515, 1510, 1545, 1480, 1580, 1435, 1575, 1475, 1540
Process B: 1485, 1500, 1525, 1455, 1570, 1560, 1530, 1550, 1515, 1510
Is this convincing evidence that the true mean breaking strength for 6 mm ropes manufactured using process A is different from the true mean breaking strength for 6 mm ropes manufactured using process B?
