Which calculation will always give a result greater than 11?

AS i solve the work i quickly realized that 

A.5 × a number less than 1 is incorrect do to the form of the placement and how it's written and that number is not Always greater than 1 

B.4/9+ a fraction less than 12 is incorrect Cause that statement that would be there is true that it is less than were looking for greater then.

C. is correct this would be your answer. Why?

Reasoning:
1. The statmen placed on this one is true 1 & 3/4 is actually greater then 3/4 when if you just left that 1 & 3/4 with just a one it would still be greater
