Aaron is trying to to convince his mom to let him have a vehicle- either a car or a motorcycle. At this point, anything with a motor and wheels will do. She has said not to everything he has tried, so he decides to approach it a different way. He decides to use the probability lesson he has been learning in math class. He takes a survey of high school kids who have vehicles and don’t have vehicles and the numbers of those who have had accidents. Draw a tree diagram to represent the data and then come up with probabilities that he can use to convince his mom that it might be safe.
There were 500 students surveyed. 230 of them were male.
