The height of the Empire State Building is 318.00 meters. If a stone is dropped from the top of the building, what is the stone's velocity just before it strikes the ground? 

In order to find the stone’s velocity just before it strikes the ground we will use one of the free fall equations. V = √(2gh). We already have the values needed which are the gravity (9.8 m/s2) and our total height (318 meters). All you have to do is solve for V. You should get 78.95 m/s.
