I would solve the problem these two ways: the standard algorithm and drawing a model. It doesn't matter which way you do it first but I recommend the model first.
For the model the first thing we do is write the fraction. We're going to multiply these together. If we look in the problem 9/10 comes first and 6(our whole number)comes last. We are going to keep, change, and flip our fractions. Because 6 is on the right-hand side we put a one over the six. If the six were on the left-hand side we would put a one under it but we're not. Now we should have 9/10 x 1/6 You can either draw 6 models split up into 9 equal parts or vice versa. After you have done that shade in one piece. 9/10 x 1/6 = 3/20 simplified and 9/60 without being simplified.
For the standard algorithm the same rules apply. We are going to put a 1 over the six so we have 9/10 x 1/6. You already know the answer if you read. I hope I helped you. :)
