I'm really stuck on these types of equations, can someone me solve this

So with basic Algebra, the point is to get the variable on one side, and the number on the other.

(x-11)/4 = 10.
multiply both sides by 4 to get rid of 4 on the left.
x-11=40
add 11 to both sides.
x=51
and that's the solution (:

So first you want to find x on its own, so we multiply both sides by 4.
This gives you x - 11 = 40
Then you add 11 to both sides in order to get rid of the - 11 on the left side.
This gives you x = 44
