2. a) The sum of the interior of a triangle must add up to 180, however, 2 angles that form a line must also be 180 degrees. Therefore, angle 4 has to be equal to the nonadjacent interior angles since it must also add up to 180 with angle 3.

    b) 52 + 25 = 77
