If i'm not mistaken, you would take the tangent of 35° which would be equal to x/660 (tan35=x/660). after doing this you would multiply both sides by 660 to get the x by itself (660tan35=x). by solving the equation (660tan35=x) you would get  462.13 feet. if you need a sentence, you could write something along the lines of "the hawk that the observer saw was flying 462.13 feet above the tree.".
