2 events are said to be independent when the occurrence of one event doesn't affect the occurrence of the other.

1) Example the event of rolling a die and getting an even number and spinning a spinner and getting an odd number are 2 INDEPENDENT events

Sample size of die ={1,2,3,4,5,6} = all possible outcomes
Sample size spinner={1,2,3,4,5}  = all possible outcomes

Sample size of event rolling an event number={2,4,6} =3 = favorable event
Sample size of event spinning an odd number={1,3,5} =3= favorable event

P( rolling even number AND getting an odd in the spinner) = (1/2).(3/5) =0.3

2) Sample size ={ 52 cards} = all possible outcomes
Sample size of event drawing an Ace = { 4 Aces} = 4
P(drawing 1st Ace) = 4/52
P(drawing a 2nd Ace without replacing the 1st) =3/51 (Since 1 ace has already been drawn (remaining 3) and 1 Ace less
means 1 card less =52-1 = 51
P(drawing1 Ace AND another Ace WITHOUT REPLACEMENT) =
(4/52).(3/51) = 1/221 = 0.00452.
We notice I this example that the 1st Event DID AFFECT the occurrence of the second, hence I this case the Events are DEPENDENT
