4. During the summer of 2016, a small island village was cutoff from the mainland for 10 days because of a hurricane, which have been increasing in force and frequency as the climate heats up. There was a large well on the island that provided clean water for all the villagers. There was enough water in the well to sustain all the villagers for the 10 days, as long as everyone restricted their water usage solely to drinking and basic food preparation. After four days the well ran dry. Drawing on concepts from class, offer two possible explanations as to why the well ran out in four days. Then, as a consultant aiming to help the local government, offer two potential solutions to this dilemma and explain why each would work.
