Simplify: (5x + 30) / (x2 - 36) . Which steps will correctly simplify this expression?

a.
Factor First...

Factor the numerator ==> 5(x + 6)

Factor the denominator ==> (x + 6) (x - 6)

Look for common factors in the numerator & denominator ==> (x + 6)

Cancel out (x + 6) to get reduced fraction ==> 5 / (x - 6)

b.
Look for stuff to cancel...

Cancel the x in 5x and x2==> (5 + 30 ) / (x - 36).

Now cancel out 6 in 30 and 36 ==> (5 + 5) / (x - 6)

Now combine like terms & simplify ==> 10 / x - 6

c.

Factor First...

Factor the numerator ==> 5(x + 6)

Factor the denominator ==> (x - 4) (x + 9)

Look for common factors in the numerator & denominator ==>NONE

This fraction cannot be reduced ==> (5x + 30) / (x2 - 36)

d.

Look for stuff to cancel...

Cancel the x in 5x and x2==> (5 + 30 ) / (x - 36).

Now simplify ==> 35 / (x - 36)
