Task: Adding and Subtracting Expressions Watch the instructional video Adding and Subtracting Polynomials - With Algebra Tiles and then complete the exercises below. Express your answer as both an expression and a tile figure.
Before you begin, note that:
To find the inverse (opposite) of an expression, build the expression with algebra tiles as written and then flip the tiles over to get the inverse. (E. g. to build the inverse expression -(2x-3) first build 2x-3, then flip the tiles over to get the correct inverse)

A positive tile plus a “negative” tile of the same size represent zero since the sum of a number and its opposite is zero. Together, they are called a zero pair and “cancel” out when combined. (E. g. -x2 and x2 are a zero pair that cancels out because (-x2)+x2=0)

Part 1-3

1: (3x2-2x+1)+(x2+4x-3)

2: (5x+4)-(-2x+3)

3: -2y2-(y2+y)
