Well, we can see that the shape is made up of 3 different types of 3-dimensional cubes so to find the answer all we have to do is figure out the volume for each separate cube and add them all together.

So, to find the volume of a cube we have to multiply the area (length x width) by the height of each cube.

Let's start with the largest cube so we would multiply 5 x 12 x 4 which equals v = 240

Now let us do the second to largest by multiplying 8 x 5 x 4 = which equals    v = 160

Finally, on to the smallest cube, 4 x 4 x 5 =

v = 80

So now if we add 240 + 160 + 80 that will give us 480

So the answer is 480 in3
