So, AB, AC, AE, AD are radii of the given circle.

If a line segment connects two points on the  circumference and passes through the center of the circle, then the line segment is known as diameter of the circle.

In the given figure B and E are two points on the circumference of the circle and the segment BE  passes through the center A. So, BE is the diameter of the circle.

Length of the diameter is:

Therefore, the segment EB is a diameter and length of the segment EB is 8 cm.

the entire expression should be subtracted from 30. to subtract the quantity, distribute the negative sign, which changes the signs on the terms. so, the –2 changes to positive and gets added to 30 instead of subtracted from it.
