A major drug company is interested in the ability of Lingonberry extract to cure the excessive shyness displayed in Norwegian Bachelor Farmer Syndrome. They conducted a pilot test with 10 farmers getting the extract and 10 getting a placebo. They were encouraged by the results (5 of the farmers in the Lingonberry group actually looked them in the eye and said hello vs. only 1 of the farmers in the placebo group) but realized that they only had a 50% chance of observing a half standard deviation difference in symptoms between the groups . They decided to expand the study to 50 in each group. How will this effect each of the following (again, no calculations necessary, how will these change? A. The likelihood of saying the two groups were different when they were not.
B. The likelihood of making a Type Il error.
C. The size of the standard errors for each of the group means.
D. Power.
