Andre has a job selling magazines. He earns $7 an hour. Andre also gets paid $ 11 an hour for every hour of overtime. Overtime hours are any hours more than 40 hours for the week. Part 1 : Write an equation that shows the amount of money earned, M, for working x hours in a week when there is no overtime. Part2: Write an equation that shows the amount of money earned, S, for working y hours of overtime. Remember to include in the equation the amount of money earned from working 40 hours. Part 3: Andre earned $346 in 1 week. How many hours( regular plus overtime) did he work? Justify your answer.
