I 3. Some field goal kickers think that they will kick better if they wear a tighter shoe on their
kicking foot. To see if this is true, a kicker decides to perform an investigation that compares
wearing a regular sized shoe on his kicking foot and wearing a tighter shoe on his kicking
foot. He will attempt 10 field goals with each type of shoe. To determine which type of shoe
to use for each kick, he will place 20 note cards in a hat, 10 labeled 'tight" and 10 labeled
"regular" and randomly draw a card before each kick.
(a) Explain how you know that this is an experiment and not an observational study.
