1/3x+y=5/4

and

2x-4y=5

Now we use elimination

y=-1/3x+5/4

-4y=4/3x-5

4/3x+4y=5

and

2x-4y=5

Eliminate the y's,

10/3x=10

10x=30

x=3

Plug into other equation

2x-4y=5

2(3)-4y=5

6-4y=5

1=4y

y=1/4

Answer (3,1/4)
