Travis spies an owl in a tall tree. He estimates the height of the tree to be 85 feet and the angle of elevation to the bird from where he stands to be 68 degrees. The leaves on the tree make it difficult for Travis to watch the bird, so he takes several steps away from the tree to get a better view. He now estimates his angle of elevation to be 41 degrees. How many feet did Travis step back to gain a better view of the bird? Round your answer to the nearest hundredth of a foot

Does the function satisfy the hypotheses of the mean value theorem on the given interval? f(x) = 4x^2 + 3x + 4, [βˆ’1, 1] no, f is continuous on [βˆ’1, 1] but not differentiable on (βˆ’1, 1). no, f is not continuous on [βˆ’1, 1]. yes, f is continuous on [βˆ’1, 1] and differentiable on (βˆ’1, 1) since polynomials are continuous and differentiable on . there is not enough information to verify if this function satisfies the mean value theorem. yes, it does not matter if f is continuous or differentiable; every function satisfies the mean value theorem.
