does anyone know what 4/9 - 3/9 - 5/9 + 5 - 8 is simplified? if u do it would help me greatly. thank you.

Calculate the difference of the first 3 terms because they have the same denominator
= -4/9 + 5 - 8
= -4/9 -3
= -4+27/9 —> Multiply 3 by 9 as it is the LCM and add the numerators
= -31/9
