What is 72.1 repeating as a fraction???

72 is composed of  (72 x 9) = 648 ninths
0.111... repeating is the decimal for 1 ninth.
So 72.1... all crammed into one improper fraction is  649/9 .

As a mixed number, it's  (72 and 1/9) .

72.1 = 72.1 / 1

Numerator = 72.1 × 10 = 721
Denominator  = 1 × 10 = 10

Numerator / Denominato = 721 / 10

The simplified fraction is

= 721/10

= 72  1/10
