How to find an equation in standard form with two points?

Assuming the points in question lay on a linear equation; 

First, find the slope using the two points given. 

m=(y₂-y₁)/(x₂-x₁) <--- inserting the values in the correct order

Afterwords, put this one into the base equation y=mx+b and the coordinates of either of the points; 

y₂=mx₂+b and solve for b 

Once you have both pieces of information, rewrite the equation into the format y=mx+b

Let the 2 point be (x1,y1) and (y1,y2)

then the slope m = (y1-y1)/(x2-x1)

now substitute this value of m and one of the 2 points ( say (x1,y1)  in the point slope form of a straight line:-

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

finally rearrange the terms  so as to get the standard form

ax + by = c
