Equity is the difference between how much the home is worth and how much you owe on the mortgage. So if we consider that the worth of the home is constant as long as you pay your mortgage, then your equity increase because you owe less amount. More over in case than the worth of the home increase during that time, then your equity will increase too at a higher pace.
