If they each spent the same amount of money, how much did each pay? This is actually going to be sort of easy, using the expression below:

Julia and her 4 friends in total equals 5. So I am most likely going to do 5 times everything given the question above.

First, I am going to have to find the total amount they spent, then divide by 5 because that is the total amount of friends. I am going to show how I did so step-by-step:

Expression: 

5 Friends = x  

(x * 2.25) + (x + 9.00) + (2 * 4.75 + 6.50)x = ?  

Step 1: Find how much the drinks and tickets are worth.

5 * 2.25 = 11.25 And we have to add in the tickets.
5 * 9.00 = 45.00

Step 2: Then find out the worth of the packages of candy and popcorn.

2 * 4.75 = 9.50 Now, to add the popcorn.
9.50 + 6.50 =  16

Step 3: Add everything to find the total of the cost.

16 + 45.00 = 61

Step 4: Divide the total cost by the number of people there to find how much each person paid.

61/5 = $12.20
