When finding the (midpoint) of the numbers shown in the question which are (-1,5) and also (3,-1).

Your (1,2) would be considered the midpoint of these two coordinates shown above. So, sense we are only trying to find the (x) coordinate, this shows us that the answer would be (1). We know this because in the beginning of the coordinate, it read ((1),2).
