if a new washing machine used 7/2 gallons of water > one full load cloths
 X gallons of water> 8/3 of load cloths
X=(8/3)*(7/2)> X=56/6>28/3 gallons of water
28/3> 9 1/3 gallons of water

the answer is
 9 1/3 gallons of water
