Daniel takes his two dogs, pauli the pointer and newton the newfoundland, out to a field and lets them loose to exercise. both dogs sprint away in different directions while daniel stands still. from daniel's point of view, newton runs due north at 3.40 m/s,3.40 m/s, but from pauli's point of view, newton appears to be moving at 2.30 m/s2.30 m/s due east. what is pauli's velocity relative to daniel, ⃗ pd? v→pd? give your answer in unit vector notation, where north is taken to be the positive - direction and east is the positive - direction.

The energy released by a chemical reaction can be measured using a calorimeter. when barium hydroxide octahydrate crystals are reacted with dry ammonium chloride inside of a coffee cup calorimeter, the temperature of the 18.00 g of water in the calorimeter decreases from 30.0°c to 8.0°c. the equation for calculating energy absorbed or released by a reaction is: where q is the energy released or absorbed, m is the mass of water in the calorimeter, cp is the specific heat of water, and δt is the observed temperature change. if the specific heat of liquid water is 4.19 j/g·°c, how much energy was absorbed by the reaction?

Aball is thrown from the top of a building with an initial velocity of 21.9 m/s straight upward, at an initial height of 51.6 m above the ground. the ball just misses the edge of the roof on its way down, as shown in the figure. (a) determine the time needed for the ball to reach its maximum height. (b) determine the maximum height. (c) determine the time needed for the ball to return to the height from which it was thrown, and the velocity of the ball at that instant. (d) determine the time needed for the ball to reach the ground. (e) determine the velocity and position of the ball at t = 5.35 s.
