You are a member of an alpine rescue team and
must get a box of supplies, with mass 3.00 kg, up
an incline of constant slope angle 30.0 " so that it
reaches a stranded skier who is a vertical distance
3.20 m above the bottom of the incline. there is
some friction present, the kinetic coefficient of
friction is 6.00x10-. since you can't walk up the
incline, you give the box a push that gives it an
initial velocity then the box slides up the incline.
slowing down under the forces of friction and
gravity. take acceleration due to gravity to be 9.81
m/s. use the work energy theorm to calculate the minimum speed v that you must give the box.

At a certain instant after jumping from the airplane a, a skydiver b is in the position shown and has reached a terminal (constant) speed vb = 52 m/s. the airplane has the same constant speed va = 52 m/s, and after a period of level flight is just beginning to follow the circular path shown of radius ρa = 2330 m. (a) determine the velocity and acceleration of the airplane relative to the skydiver. (b) determine the time rate of change of the speed vr of the airplane and the radius of curvature ρr of its path, both as observed by the nonrotating skydiver.

Abasketball star covers 2.65 m horizontally in a jump to dunk the ball. his motion through space can be modeled precisely as that of a particle at his center of mass. his center of mass is at elevation 1.02 m when he leaves the floor. it reaches a maximum height of 1.90 m above the floor and is at elevation 0.910 m when he touches down again. (a) determine his time of flight (his "hang time"). (b) determine his horizontal velocity at the instant of takeoff. (c) determine his vertical velocity at the instant of takeoff. (d) determine his takeoff angle. (e) for comparison, determine the hang time of a whitetail deer making a jump with center-of-mass elevations yi = 1.20 m, ymax = 2.45 m, and yf = 0.750 m.
