a.We have to find the distance flawn by bird in a straight line from the same starting point to the same final point.

x-Component of resultant vector= R_x= -2.2 km

y-Component of resultant vector= R_y=-(4.9-3.4)=-1.5km

Magnitude of resultant vector = $R=\sqrt{R^2_x+R^2_y}$

By using the formula of magnitude of vector

b.We have to find the direction .

most voltage drop calculators want the distance between the source and destination. then internally, they double it so both the source and return wires are calculated. but you need to know which distance the calculator uses so you're not half of what you should be or double what you should be.
