A compact disc (CD) stores music in a coded pattern of tiny pits 10−7m deep. The pits are arranged in a track that spirals outward toward the rim of the disc; the inner and outer radii of this spiral are 25.0 mm and 58.0 mm, respectively. As the disc spins inside a CD player, the track is scanned at a constant linear speed of 1.25 m/s.
a. What is the angular speed of the CD when scanning the innermost part of the track? the outermost part of the track?
b. The maximum playing time of a CD is 74.0 minutes. What would be the length of the track on such a maximum-duration CD if it were stretched out in a straight line?
c. What is the average angular acceleration of a maximum-duration CD during its 74.0 minutes playing time? Take the direction of rotation of the disc to be positive.

When a vertical beam of light passes through a transparent medium, the rate at which its intensity i decreases is proportional to i(t), where t represents the thickness of the medium (in feet). in clear seawater, the intensity 3 feet below the surface is 25% of the initial intensity i0 of the incident beam. what is the intensity of the beam "10" feet below the surface? (give your answer in terms of i0. round any constants or coefficients to five decimal places.)
